Kefalonia - Griekenland
Omschrijving:
Ik vertrok met Transavia op de vroege ochtendvlucht en na ruim 3 uur sta je aan op het eiland. Op de kleine luchthaven volgt de bagage snel en binnen een half uurtje sta je bij de autoverhuurder. Dan linksaf richting Argostoli, maar daar rijden we aan voorbij want dat doen we later tijdens een bezoek. Bij Kardakata het schiereiland op en de weg naar Petani Bay is even moeilijk te vinden zonder navigatie.
Maar we zien de baai verschijnen en staan al snel voor hotel Petani Bay ****, hier de beschrijving:
Het viersterrenhotel Petani Bay ligt op een heuveltop bij de Petani-baai, en beschikt over een bekroond overloopzwembad en een restaurant. Het biedt individueel ingerichte accommodatie met uitzicht op de Ionische Zee. Er is overal gratis WiFi beschikbaar.
Het Petani Bay Hotel biedt smaakvol ingerichte suites met brede en lange comfortabele bedden, een volledig uitgeruste keuken, en een balkon met uitzicht op de Petani-baai. Alle suites zijn voorzien van satelliet-tv en een dvd-speler.
Het eigen restaurant serveert internationale en Griekse gerechten, waaronder een verscheidenheid aan gerechten met vers vlees, verse vis, schelp- en schaaldieren, en pastaspecialiteiten. U kunt zich dit laten smaken, terwijl u geniet van het uitzicht over de baai. Aan de bar bij het zwembad kunt u verfrissende drankjes nuttigen. Het ontbijt wordt geserveerd tussen 08:00 en 10:30 uur, en bestaat uit eigengemaakte Griekse producten van hoge kwaliteit, zoals vers geperst sinaasappelsap, Griekse yoghurt, lokale honing, zelfgemaakte jam en vers fruit.
Het strand van Petani werd uitgekozen tot één van de beste 10 stranden van heel Griekenland. Dat geldt ook voor het Myrtos-strand. De accommodatie biedt gratis privéparkeergelegenheid.
De ontvangst is vriendelijk, de kamer is even klimmen via trappen (complex is dus niet geschikt voor slecht ter been zijnden!) en daar op de hoek staan we in de suite. met recht een suite, grote woon/slaapkamer met kingsize bed, complete keuken, zithoek en aparte eethoek, hal, badkamer met inloopdouche en zeer verzorgd en design allemaal. Balkon met prachtig uitzicht over de baai.
We gebruiken een aantal diners in het restaurant, de kwaliteit is goed en de porties royaal. Bediening vriendelijk en attent. Uitzicht adembenemend met ondergaande zon! Je kunt ook buiten eten bij goed weer.
Toch verkies ik zelf een taverne qua sfeer en aanbod aan goed betaalbare gerechten, maar dat is persoonlijk.
Als trips over het eiland aanbevolen:
- Argostoli, de hoofdplaats met een leuk centrum vol winkels, restaurants, haven en vertrekplaats ferry naar (schiereiland) Lixouri
- Fiskardo, toeristische trekpleister in noorden eiland veel sfeer aan haven met volop taverna's
- Assos, plaatstje met kasteel : klein maar fijn!
- Myrtos, wit strand en azuurblauwe zee > bekend van alle plaatjes in gidsen!
- Melissani, helderblauw/groen meer waar je met een bootje rondvaart met speciale lichtinval door de rotsen
- klooster St. Gerasimos, best de moeite waard in een mooie omgeving
- excursie naar het vlakbij gelegen Ithaka eiland
Kortom: je kunt Kefalonia gerust doen voor 1-2 weken, in 1 week kun je alle bezienswaardigheden doen en als je van relaxen houdt is dat een mooie combinatie. De reisafstanden zijn goed te doen bij voorkeur vanuit een centraal punt is dat het handigste. De wegen zijn vaak bochtig en met veel hoogteverschil, dus van noord naar zuid ben je al snel 2 uur onderweg zonder stops.

De reisafstanden zijn goed te doen bij voorkeur vanuit een centraal punt is dat het handigste. De wegen zijn vaak bochtig en met veel hoogteverschil, dus van noord naar zuid ben je al snel 2 uur onderweg zonder stops.

Omschrijving:
Ik vertrok met Transavia op de vroege ochtendvlucht en na ruim 3 uur sta je aan op het eiland. Op de kleine luchthaven volgt de bagage snel en binnen een half uurtje sta je bij de autoverhuurder. Dan linksaf richting Argostoli, maar daar rijden we aan voorbij want dat doen we later tijdens een bezoek. Bij Kardakata het schiereiland op en de weg naar Petani Bay is even moeilijk te vinden zonder navigatie.
Maar we zien de baai verschijnen en staan al snel voor hotel Petani Bay ****, hier de beschrijving:
Het viersterrenhotel Petani Bay ligt op een heuveltop bij de Petani-baai, en beschikt over een bekroond overloopzwembad en een restaurant. Het biedt individueel ingerichte accommodatie met uitzicht op de Ionische Zee. Er is overal gratis WiFi beschikbaar.
Het Petani Bay Hotel biedt smaakvol ingerichte suites met brede en lange comfortabele bedden, een volledig uitgeruste keuken, en een balkon met uitzicht op de Petani-baai. Alle suites zijn voorzien van satelliet-tv en een dvd-speler.
Het eigen restaurant serveert internationale en Griekse gerechten, waaronder een verscheidenheid aan gerechten met vers vlees, verse vis, schelp- en schaaldieren, en pastaspecialiteiten. U kunt zich dit laten smaken, terwijl u geniet van het uitzicht over de baai. Aan de bar bij het zwembad kunt u verfrissende drankjes nuttigen. Het ontbijt wordt geserveerd tussen 08:00 en 10:30 uur, en bestaat uit eigengemaakte Griekse producten van hoge kwaliteit, zoals vers geperst sinaasappelsap, Griekse yoghurt, lokale honing, zelfgemaakte jam en vers fruit.
Het strand van Petani werd uitgekozen tot één van de beste 10 stranden van heel Griekenland. Dat geldt ook voor het Myrtos-strand. De accommodatie biedt gratis privéparkeergelegenheid.
De ontvangst is vriendelijk, de kamer is even klimmen via trappen (complex is dus niet geschikt voor slecht ter been zijnden!) en daar op de hoek staan we in de suite. met recht een suite, grote woon/slaapkamer met kingsize bed, complete keuken, zithoek en aparte eethoek, hal, badkamer met inloopdouche en zeer verzorgd en design allemaal. Balkon met prachtig uitzicht over de baai.
We gebruiken een aantal diners in het restaurant, de kwaliteit is goed en de porties royaal. Bediening vriendelijk en attent. Uitzicht adembenemend met ondergaande zon! Je kunt ook buiten eten bij goed weer.
Toch verkies ik zelf een taverne qua sfeer en aanbod aan goed betaalbare gerechten, maar dat is persoonlijk.
Als trips over het eiland aanbevolen:
- Argostoli, de hoofdplaats met een leuk centrum vol winkels, restaurants, haven en vertrekplaats ferry naar (schiereiland) Lixouri
- Fiskardo, toeristische trekpleister in noorden eiland veel sfeer aan haven met volop taverna's
- Assos, plaatstje met kasteel : klein maar fijn!
- Myrtos, wit strand en azuurblauwe zee > bekend van alle plaatjes in gidsen!
- Melissani, helderblauw/groen meer waar je met een bootje rondvaart met speciale lichtinval door de rotsen

Kortom: je kunt Kefalonia gerust doen voor 1-2 weken, in 1 week kun je alle bezienswaardigheden doen en als je van relaxen houdt is dat een mooie combinatie. De reisafstanden zijn goed te doen bij voorkeur vanuit een centraal punt is dat het handigste. De wegen zijn vaak bochtig en met veel hoogteverschil, dus van noord naar zuid ben je al snel 2 uur onderweg zonder stops.

Omschrijving:
Ik vertrok met Transavia op de vroege ochtendvlucht en na ruim 3 uur sta je aan op het eiland. Op de kleine luchthaven volgt de bagage snel en binnen een half uurtje sta je bij de autoverhuurder. Dan linksaf richting Argostoli, maar daar rijden we aan voorbij want dat doen we later tijdens een bezoek. Bij Kardakata het schiereiland op en de weg naar Petani Bay is even moeilijk te vinden zonder navigatie.
Maar we zien de baai verschijnen en staan al snel voor hotel Petani Bay ****, hier de beschrijving:
Het viersterrenhotel Petani Bay ligt op een heuveltop bij de Petani-baai, en beschikt over een bekroond overloopzwembad en een restaurant. Het biedt individueel ingerichte accommodatie met uitzicht op de Ionische Zee. Er is overal gratis WiFi beschikbaar.
Het Petani Bay Hotel biedt smaakvol ingerichte suites met brede en lange comfortabele bedden, een volledig uitgeruste keuken, en een balkon met uitzicht op de Petani-baai. Alle suites zijn voorzien van satelliet-tv en een dvd-speler.
Het eigen restaurant serveert internationale en Griekse gerechten, waaronder een verscheidenheid aan gerechten met vers vlees, verse vis, schelp- en schaaldieren, en pastaspecialiteiten. U kunt zich dit laten smaken, terwijl u geniet van het uitzicht over de baai. Aan de bar bij het zwembad kunt u verfrissende drankjes nuttigen. Het ontbijt wordt geserveerd tussen 08:00 en 10:30 uur, en bestaat uit eigengemaakte Griekse producten van hoge kwaliteit, zoals vers geperst sinaasappelsap, Griekse yoghurt, lokale honing, zelfgemaakte jam en vers fruit.
Het strand van Petani werd uitgekozen tot één van de beste 10 stranden van heel Griekenland. Dat geldt ook voor het Myrtos-strand. De accommodatie biedt gratis privéparkeergelegenheid.
De ontvangst is vriendelijk, de kamer is even klimmen via trappen (complex is dus niet geschikt voor slecht ter been zijnden!) en daar op de hoek staan we in de suite. met recht een suite, grote woon/slaapkamer met kingsize bed, complete keuken, zithoek en aparte eethoek, hal, badkamer met inloopdouche en zeer verzorgd en design allemaal. Balkon met prachtig uitzicht over de baai.
We gebruiken een aantal diners in het restaurant, de kwaliteit is goed en de porties royaal. Bediening vriendelijk en attent. Uitzicht adembenemend met ondergaande zon! Je kunt ook buiten eten bij goed weer.
Toch verkies ik zelf een taverne qua sfeer en aanbod aan goed betaalbare gerechten, maar dat is persoonlijk.
Als trips over het eiland aanbevolen:
- Argostoli, de hoofdplaats met een leuk centrum vol winkels, restaurants, haven en vertrekplaats ferry naar (schiereiland) Lixouri
- Fiskardo, toeristische trekpleister in noorden eiland veel sfeer aan haven met volop taverna's
- Assos, plaatstje met kasteel : klein maar fijn!
- Myrtos, wit strand en azuurblauwe zee > bekend van alle plaatjes in gidsen!
- Melissani, helderblauw/groen meer waar je met een bootje rondvaart met speciale lichtinval door de rotsen

Kefalonia - Griekenland
Omschrijving:
Ik vertrok met Transavia op de vroege ochtendvlucht en na ruim 3 uur sta je aan op het eiland. Op de kleine luchthaven volgt de bagage snel en binnen een half uurtje sta je bij de autoverhuurder. Dan linksaf richting Argostoli, maar daar rijden we aan voorbij want dat doen we later tijdens een bezoek. Bij Kardakata het schiereiland op en de weg naar Petani Bay is even moeilijk te vinden zonder navigatie.
Maar we zien de baai verschijnen en staan al snel voor hotel Petani Bay ****, hier de beschrijving:
Het viersterrenhotel Petani Bay ligt op een heuveltop bij de Petani-baai, en beschikt over een bekroond overloopzwembad en een restaurant. Het biedt individueel ingerichte accommodatie met uitzicht op de Ionische Zee. Er is overal gratis WiFi beschikbaar.
Het Petani Bay Hotel biedt smaakvol ingerichte suites met brede en lange comfortabele bedden, een volledig uitgeruste keuken, en een balkon met uitzicht op de Petani-baai. Alle suites zijn voorzien van satelliet-tv en een dvd-speler.
Het eigen restaurant serveert internationale en Griekse gerechten, waaronder een verscheidenheid aan gerechten met vers vlees, verse vis, schelp- en schaaldieren, en pastaspecialiteiten. U kunt zich dit laten smaken, terwijl u geniet van het uitzicht over de baai. Aan de bar bij het zwembad kunt u verfrissende drankjes nuttigen. Het ontbijt wordt geserveerd tussen 08:00 en 10:30 uur, en bestaat uit eigengemaakte Griekse producten van hoge kwaliteit, zoals vers geperst sinaasappelsap, Griekse yoghurt, lokale honing, zelfgemaakte jam en vers fruit.
Het strand van Petani werd uitgekozen tot één van de beste 10 stranden van heel Griekenland. Dat geldt ook voor het Myrtos-strand. De accommodatie biedt gratis privéparkeergelegenheid.
De ontvangst is vriendelijk, de kamer is even klimmen via trappen (complex is dus niet geschikt voor slecht ter been zijnden!) en daar op de hoek staan we in de suite. met recht een suite, grote woon/slaapkamer met kingsize bed, complete keuken, zithoek en aparte eethoek, hal, badkamer met inloopdouche en zeer verzorgd en design allemaal. Balkon met prachtig uitzicht over de baai.
We gebruiken een aantal diners in het restaurant, de kwaliteit is goed en de porties royaal. Bediening vriendelijk en attent. Uitzicht adembenemend met ondergaande zon! Je kunt ook buiten eten bij goed weer.
Toch verkies ik zelf een taverne qua sfeer en aanbod aan goed betaalbare gerechten, maar dat is persoonlijk.
Als trips over het eiland aanbevolen:
- Argostoli, de hoofdplaats met een leuk centrum vol winkels, restaurants, haven en vertrekplaats ferry naar (schiereiland) Lixouri
- Fiskardo, toeristische trekpleister in noorden eiland veel sfeer aan haven met volop taverna's
- Assos, plaatstje met kasteel : klein maar fijn!
- Myrtos, wit strand en azuurblauwe zee > bekend van alle plaatjes in gidsen!
- Melissani, helderblauw/groen meer waar je met een bootje rondvaart met speciale lichtinval door de rotsen
- klooster St. Gerasimos, best de moeite waard in een mooie omgeving
- excursie naar het vlakbij gelegen Ithaka eiland
Kortom: je kunt Kefalonia gerust doen voor 1-2 weken, in 1 week kun je alle bezienswaardigheden doen en als je van relaxen houdt is dat een mooie combinatie. De reisafstanden zijn goed te doen bij voorkeur vanuit een centraal punt is dat het handigste. De wegen zijn vaak bochtig en met veel hoogteverschil, dus van noord naar zuid ben je al snel 2 uur onderweg zonder stops.

Zoals te doen gebruikelijk word mij vaak gevraagd “Waar ben je nú weer geweest?” Lang heb ik me ietwat schuldig gevoeld en voerde ik aan dat er toch vooral gewerkt werd tijdens een studiereis. Het is een w-e-r-k-r-e-i-s. Niets ingewikkeld, de een doet onderzoek in het Great Barrier Reef en mag tijdelijk op een tropisch eiland wonen, de ander bouwt huizen in Indonesië na de tsunami en ik bezoek bestemmingen en onderzoek hotels. Met tot doel bij geschiktheid dit over te brengen op de klanten en deze bestemming beter te kunnen verkopen. Zo simpel is dat. Kun je lekker gerecht niet het beste opdienen als je het eerst zelf een keer gemaakt en geproefd hebt, succes verzekerd!
Dus droomwerk, ja en nee. Natuurlijk zie ik veel van de wereld en krijg je soms een paar uurtjes tijd om zelf te genieten van die zonovergoten witte stranden. Maar er zijn toch vooral veel verplichtingen (hotels inspecteren, verplichte maaltijden en power point presentaties met managers). Je gaat vaak met een groep onbekende collega’s op stap en komt als gezellige vrienden uit de reiswereld terug. Dus met enthousiasme ga ik op de ingeslagen weg door. Zie mijn verslagen!

[description] => Ik vertrok met Transavia op de vroege ochtendvlucht en na ruim 3 uur sta je aan op het eiland. Op de kleine luchthaven volgt de bagage snel en binnen een half uurtje sta je bij de autoverhuurder. Dan linksaf richting Argostoli, maar daar rijden we aan voorbij want dat doen we later tijdens een bezoek. Bij Kardakata het schiereiland op en de weg naar Petani Bay is even moeilijk te vinden zonder navigatie.
Maar we zien de baai verschijnen en staan al snel voor hotel Petani Bay ****, hier de beschrijving:
Het viersterrenhotel Petani Bay ligt op een heuveltop bij de Petani-baai, en beschikt over een bekroond overloopzwembad en een restaurant. Het biedt individueel ingerichte accommodatie met uitzicht op de Ionische Zee. Er is overal gratis WiFi beschikbaar.
Het Petani Bay Hotel biedt smaakvol ingerichte suites met brede en lange comfortabele bedden, een volledig uitgeruste keuken, en een balkon met uitzicht op de Petani-baai. Alle suites zijn voorzien van satelliet-tv en een dvd-speler.
Het eigen restaurant serveert internationale en Griekse gerechten, waaronder een verscheidenheid aan gerechten met vers vlees, verse vis, schelp- en schaaldieren, en pastaspecialiteiten. U kunt zich dit laten smaken, terwijl u geniet van het uitzicht over de baai. Aan de bar bij het zwembad kunt u verfrissende drankjes nuttigen. Het ontbijt wordt geserveerd tussen 08:00 en 10:30 uur, en bestaat uit eigengemaakte Griekse producten van hoge kwaliteit, zoals vers geperst sinaasappelsap, Griekse yoghurt, lokale honing, zelfgemaakte jam en vers fruit.
Het strand van Petani werd uitgekozen tot één van de beste 10 stranden van heel Griekenland. Dat geldt ook voor het Myrtos-strand. De accommodatie biedt gratis privéparkeergelegenheid.
De ontvangst is vriendelijk, de kamer is even klimmen via trappen (complex is dus niet geschikt voor slecht ter been zijnden!) en daar op de hoek staan we in de suite. met recht een suite, grote woon/slaapkamer met kingsize bed, complete keuken, zithoek en aparte eethoek, hal, badkamer met inloopdouche en zeer verzorgd en design allemaal. Balkon met prachtig uitzicht over de baai.
We gebruiken een aantal diners in het restaurant, de kwaliteit is goed en de porties royaal. Bediening vriendelijk en attent. Uitzicht adembenemend met ondergaande zon! Je kunt ook buiten eten bij goed weer.
Toch verkies ik zelf een taverne qua sfeer en aanbod aan goed betaalbare gerechten, maar dat is persoonlijk.
Als trips over het eiland aanbevolen:
- Argostoli, de hoofdplaats met een leuk centrum vol winkels, restaurants, haven en vertrekplaats ferry naar (schiereiland) Lixouri
- Fiskardo, toeristische trekpleister in noorden eiland veel sfeer aan haven met volop taverna's
- Assos, plaatstje met kasteel : klein maar fijn!
- Myrtos, wit strand en azuurblauwe zee > bekend van alle plaatjes in gidsen!
- Melissani, helderblauw/groen meer waar je met een bootje rondvaart met speciale lichtinval door de rotsen
- klooster St. Gerasimos, best de moeite waard in een mooie omgeving
- excursie naar het vlakbij gelegen Ithaka eiland
Kortom: je kunt Kefalonia gerust doen voor 1-2 weken, in 1 week kun je alle bezienswaardigheden doen en als je van relaxen houdt is dat een mooie combinatie. De reisafstanden zijn goed te doen bij voorkeur vanuit een centraal punt is dat het handigste. De wegen zijn vaak bochtig en met veel hoogteverschil, dus van noord naar zuid ben je al snel 2 uur onderweg zonder stops.
